NIGER SANCTIONS, CEASE TO FUNCTION PERMANENTLY BY ECOWAS


The ECONOMIC and commercials dispensation or sanction that was imposed on the Republic of Niger has been cleared. This exercise undertaken by the ECONOMIC ORGANIZATION OF WEST AFRICAN STATE(ECOWAS) .
The sanction was initiated and installed following the demotion of installed Niger’s lawfully, democratically elected president(H.E Mohammed Bazuom) in 2023 triggering a stern response from the ECOWAS, which has called for intolerance policy for an unconstitutional changes in the Niger’s government.
In 2023, the Republic of Niger along with Mali and Burkina Faso pronounced
Their recognition and withdrawal from the the regional bloc citing what they deemed to inhumane.
Perhaps, on Saturday 24th February, 2024 during an unusual summit held in Abuja, Nigeria.
The ECOWAS declared the erasure of all sanctions on the Republic of Niger. The proclamation also placed emphasis on establishing protocols for free movement with the bloc would remain unaffected.
